Jonathan Williams ran all over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers racking up over 157 yards and two majors as the Ottawa Redblacks topped the Bombers 42-20 on Friday. The win snapped a nine-game losing streak for the Redblacks, improving their record to 2-11. The Redblacks would get the advantage back with Danny OBrien finding an open Khalil Paden late in the second quarter and lengthen their lead when Henry Burris ran in a one-yard score in the dying seconds. It was a lead they would not relinquish. After trading early field goals in the third quarter, it was Williams once more from two yards out who got the first major of the second half. Brett Maher would tack on a pair of field goals, to provide the final score line. The Redblacks set a new franchise record for points in a single game, breaking their previous mark of 32 (set in their 35-32 Week 13 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders) before the fourth quarter even began.
